Ayubowan, we've got some exciting news for you!

With the world moving along to a new beat and the new year just around the corner, we too, are bringing something new to The Lankan Crabs, Bangsar: Mutton Bone Gearbox Fried Rice, Moringa Drumstick Rice, Black Pepper Crabs, and Black Pepper Prawns. These exciting new additions to The Lankan Crabs’ lineup make for ideal companions to the upcoming year-end celebrations such as Deepavali, anniversaries and memorable birthdays with family and friends.


Mutton Bone Gearbox Fried Rice

To kick things off, we're thrilled to announce that Mutton Bone Gearbox Fried Rice (also affectionately known to our patrons as Gearbox Fried Rice) is now being permanently added to our lineup of Sri Lankan cuisine. It was previously an off-menu dish that we serve on special occasions, such as intimate private gatherings and it even made its way to our Father’s Day celebration promos a couple of months back. Everyone who has sinked their jaws into this crowd-pleaser has agreed - It’s a keeper, and it’s here to stay.

Moringa Drumstick Rice

Our next offering is sure to please vegetarians - Moringa Drumstick Rice! Moringa or drumstick tree, is one of the most nutritionally-dense plants on earth. The Moringa sticks we use are imported from India to give a refined taste packed with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that can help ward off disease, improve digestion and more. As a popular ingredient in Indian cuisine, its unique taste blends perfectly with the other ingredients such as ghee, Varuval masala, Moringa leaves and Basmathi rice - it’s a taste of Sri Lanka with health benefits to boot!

Speaking of herbs and spices, we know that the ‘King of Spice’ in Sri Lanka is none other than Black Pepper. That’s why we are delighted to introduce two exciting new dishes that bring out the best of what Black Pepper has to offer, using hand-crushed peppercorns from Sarawak (support local ingredients!), that give a touch of spice and a whole lot of flavor that fuses seamlessly with the sweetness of seafood. We give you, Black Pepper Crabs & Black Pepper Prawns!

When it comes to the Black Pepper Crabs - we are especially proud. This is our first new addition to our crab line-up since the Masak Lemak Crabs. Our chefs have once again struck the perfect balance of black pepper soaked in olive buttery goodness that complements the soft and juicy texture of our live mud crabs that you’ve come to know and love.

On the other hand, the combination of Black Pepper and Prawns with olive butter & garlic brings out an explosion of flavour that ricochets in your mouth before making its way down. The natural sweetness of fresh prawns is balanced by the spiciness of black pepper.
